Why do Teachers that Hate their Job Continue Teaching?

Im sure we have all had at least one teacher that seems to not care at all for their students or jobs in general. It is not even a mater of whether the class is easy some teachers that grade hard but are nice who make you want to try and do better are much better teachers then ones that don't care at all and only go through the motions. It makes me wonder why they bothered to become teachers in the first place. Did they start out not liking teaching from the beginning have they just been teaching too long did they think they would be making more money? what it is that makes them dislike their job so much?I have encountered these types of teachers all over the grid from elementary school through college, and it just seems sad when a person seems to dislike there job so much especially when they are supposed to be helping others to further there education. It is just not a very good environment to learn in when you have questions and want to further understand something and then the teacher always treats it like you just asked them to run a marathon. People that dislike there job that much really should rethink their choice in career.

Thoughts of School

Do you ever feel like quitting school? Going on to work full time and make tons of money, maybe....
I have. Not gonna lie. This year kicked my butt, and many times I thought, "I think I am done with school. I've had enough of it in my lifetime. I'll work or join the military or something."
I think I am glad I stuck with it, no matter how much I think otherwise, because it is really going to pay off in the future. It will give me a better job, better pay, better benefits, better everything. The only downfall with this is that I am gonna be in school for at least two more years, and that's just for my bachelor's degree. I'll go on and go for my master's, and that adds another year or two. After that, maybe go for my PhD, and that adds yet another year or two. So I am looking at anywhere between 2 and 6 more years of college. UGH! I think it is a waste of time right now that I spend day in and day out studying my butt off for tests for some classes that I will never need or use. Major classes are a different story, but a few of them are pointless because even those are useless. That's what I think now. I may come to a day that I look back and appreciate the fact that I took that class, but I don't like them right now. School gives you many more opportunities to succeed in life, even if it takes over your life for four years or more. I think if I were to drop out of school, the military would be the best fit for me. I plan on going in after school anyways. The only problem is I wouldn't be able to go in as an officer if I were to go in now, I could only be enlisted and have to work my way up. Another point goes to staying in school.
Parents expect a lot out of their kids, and my parents are no different. Growing up, I heard all about how hard my parents worked to get where they are and the schooling they had to go through. They always told me that I have to at least get my bachelors degree, and I always told them I would. Yet another point to staying in school. I think that without them pushing me, I wouldn't be where I am and be able to do what I want to do, even though I don't want to do what they want me to do all the time. Oh well.

So let's see. I count 3 points for stay in school, and 2 points to dropping out. Guess I will stay in school and labor my butt off for the next 2-6 years to become successful in life. Ugh.

Anyways, I'm out.

Music

I <3 style="color: rgb(255, 153, 0);">I like how you put Journay first instead of Journey... You obviously don't love them enough.

Typo, sorry.
Grammer nazi....

I know. But people should know how to use correct grammar.

I do, but only in papers.

Now to talk about music again.

Does music now have any meaning, or is it all just controlled by numbers and corporate businesses?

All music has meaning. It's just the way that different people interpret it. They just need corporate businesses to market their music.

So "Movin' my hips like yeah" has meaning?

Yes. That's the way she dances. It's a way of expressing what she does. the whole verse is "Noddin' my head like yeah/ Movin' my hips like yeah." It's what she does while listening to JZ, Britney, and her own songs.

'Like yeah" does not describe an action...

That's why she performs while she sings it.

But it is a song, and you dont always watch her when listening to it.

But you can nod your head "like yeah"... which means just nodding your head.

You cant do you homework like yeah or drive a car like yeah.

That's why she didn't put them as lyrics.

If you cant use it for one, you cant use it for another.

Sure you can.

What ever.
Anyways, then do you think that people who dont write there own lyrics should still be considered good artists?

Yeah. If they use someone else's songs, it's the way they interpret it and sing it.

Then do you believe they should be considered just not as good of artists?

Why? They are interpreting something someone else wrote and made it their own personality. If anything, that's what makes them artists.

I don't know why some people believe that. Like with Britney Spears and others with how they dont write, but just sing. They aren't as good as others that do both.

That is the opinion of the music listener as to whether they are good artists or not.

I find it funny that older people say the music of the generations below them is just trash or not really music. Every generation.

Because from the birth of rock and roll on was basically a rebellion against the old ways.

But its not just rock and roll. Many from the generation before ours consider the music we listen to not really music.

That really depends on the genre of music one listens to.

I'm not saying it doesn't, but it still happens, and I find it amusing.

You mean like rap?

Including rap, yes. But also pop and trance and such.

Because rappers don't really "sing". They are talking in their songs, but they have a beat in the background to make it sound like they are singing.

Once again, not just rap though. I know many from older generations who wouldn't understand why anyone would like techno and many other current singers in pop, and even country with how it sounds now.

I think country music has the best singers out of most other genres of music.

Yeah probably. But I'm just saying the sound of it has changed. Not tones, but if you listen to country from even 10 years ago, it sounds different.

Technology has changed.

Yeah and?

Musicians now can make their instruments make different sounds because of the technology.

I'm not saying that it doesn't. And that can be a part of it, but even the speed and tempo is different.

That's not necessarily true. Different singers have different sounds, speed, tempo, etc.

I'm not saying that they don't. But as a whole, it has changed. Not completely and not everyone, but many have.

But you are saying that.

No, I'm not.

Yes.... You are.

No. Where did I say ALL music is different than it was.

We aren't talking about ALL music....
Comparing Taylor Swift to Dolly Parton isn't a viable comparison because Taylor Swift uses her own life to write her songs, so they are gonna sound different than Dolly Parton.

Im not even talking about the lyrics.

I'm talking about the way she uses music and notes and tones and whatnot to create her songs.

Obviously all that would be different or it would be plagerism. But there are certan ways that those things are used now that they never were before.

That's what I'm trying to tell you!

I never said that they wouldn't use different notes and such. But the overall sound is still very different than it used to be. It's kinda like listening to music from the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's. When you look at the pop and R&B from each era, it is distinct and different sounding. Each one, even though it might be the same genre, you can listen to a song, and with out even knowing when it was released or who sings it, and know that it is from a certan era because of how it sounds.

That's the arrangement of notes. R&B sounds the same to me no matter what era it is from.

And the arrangement is part of the way it sounds, and it changes as time moves on in each genre. Which is what I am saying I find amusing, because my grandparents said the music my parents listened to in high school and college was trash, and their parents said the same about what they listened to. Even now, many of the stuff my sister and I listen to, our parents say the same thing about it. Not everthing, and not just rap, but a lot of it.

That's because the type of music each generation listens to is different.

I know that. Obviously that is what it is. But I just think it is amusing that despite the fact that they went through the same thing when growing up, they dont apply it to themselves as parents. They complain about it, saying the same things their parents said to them. Not maybe stopping to think, "You know, my parents thought what I listend to was trash, but I dident think so, so maybe what my kid is listing to that i dont really like might not be trash, just different."

I don't even know what we are talking about anymore.

HAHA

So peace out.

Randomosity of College Kids

Despite the fact that you are older, you still have to deal with the same stupid stuff as in high school. Why is this?
People say that when you are in college, you don't have to deal with all the drama that comes with being in high school. They aren't entirely correct. Though I don't have much drama in my life, there still exists drama that was dealt with in high school.

Because men are at the height of their maturity at 12, then they regress.

But it is not men I have drama with, it is females. The girlfriends of my buddies are always in the middle of drama that they should have left with their high school selves.

To escape from their every day boring life, they create drama.

But I don't understand why they have to bring other people into their drama, because I do not want to have to deal with things that are happening 100 miles away that have nothing to do with me.

They like the attention. Sad I know, but true nontheless. Why is fried chicken so good?

Fried chicken is AMAZING!!! It has to do with the beautiful layer of bread that seperates the chicken breast/thigh/leg from your hungry, salivating mouth. it is only good when the chicken is thouroughly cooked though. I went to KFC once and had a not-quite-cooked chicken thigh, and it was not so amazing.

KFC in China is better.

But I'm not in China.

Have you tried the chicken wraped bacon? My roommate got it, and it is good. But you know how they say something is a heart attack waiting to happpen? This IS a heart attack.

Are you talking about the DoubleDown thing or whatever it's called?

Yeah that.

I think it is the stupidest idea ever! America is a fat nation as it is. Two pieces of fried chicken with cheese in the middle is gonna make us even more fat. And they say that they have it with grilled chicken, but that is still not going to help very much because that is A LOT of calories.

You forgot the bacon in the middle too.

Whatever. Helps my point even more.

I know. It is bad.

Bad is quite an understatment. They need to concentrate on making something like a chicken salad. I don't know if they have one or not, but if they don't, they should. If they do, they need to push that more on America, cause it's healthier.

But most people dont realise that most salads are just as bad if not worse than anything else because they slather dressing all over it, along with shredded cheese and bacon as well.

But if they don't offer those on the salads, they won't have that problem.

True, but then most people wont buy it. I find it funny that they make this burger thing after they even changed the name to Kentucky FRESH Chicken to try and be "healthier".

I thought it was Kitchen Fresh Chicken.....

Yeah, something like that.

On a related subject.... Did you watch Jamie Oliver's show about trying to change America's outlook on healthy food?

I dont have TV.

Oh... Well, this bloke (?) from England came here and went to Huntington, West Virginia, which is the most unhealthy city in the nation, and he tried to get people to eat more vegetables and fruits and whatnot. He went to the schools in town and got them to change their lunch menus to include less "bad" food like french fries, and replaced it with stuff like fresh vegetables and tried to include stir fry in the menu. It was pretty interesting.

Well, sounds more intresting then most stuff on TV today. Though speaking of TV, why do people feel the it is necessary to have it? I mean most people that have it dont even really watch it, and everything they do watch is on the Net legally anyway. It is 40 bucks a month down the drain.

It inspired me to eat healthier..... though I haven't quite gone through with it yet. I started to, but have strayed from it since I watched it.

Yeah. It is hard to change your lifestyle like that, it has to become habit. Not to mention that the food that is most readily available to you is unhealthy, and with many people's lifestyles especially that of a college student, which is so busy with work and school, it is hard to keep to a healthier diet.

I agree. But I think people don't want to change their lifestyles and eat healthier because the junk food is SOOOOOO good.

I wonder if the good food was bad for you and the bad food was good for you, would we still think the same? Because people don't like to do what they are told by others.

Isn't that the way it is now? Cause junk food is good, but is bad for you....

I mean if healthy food was, in reality, bad for you, would we like it more, the taste and stuff? And if junk food was really healthy, would we not like it as much?

If healthy food wasn't good for you, why would it be called "healthy"?

Well, we probably wouldn't call it healthy then. But say tomatoes had the calories and all that bad stuff in the nutrients as chips, would people like to eat them more?

I don't think people eat junk food because of the calories and whatnot. They eat it because it tastes good. So, tomatoes that have all the calories and whatnot of chips wouldn't matter. They'd be eaten the same as they are now, because people still know that it is a tomato and would associate it with grossness.

I see.

Do you really?

Yep. There are lots of colors and a guy that looks and sounds like Paul McCartney talking.

And that is the epitome of randomness of college kids.

Peace out.
